Forget Pepsi and fake flavors, have the real thing: Strawberries and Cream Frappe

Few things are half as good as simple things. Like fresh cream or fresh certified farm milk from a cow that gives high fat milk. Certain cows are put in the field simply to raise the butterfat of the milk the others give. That is why you always see at least a redhead in a herd of holsteins. The holsteins give large qualities of milk but don’t have much butterfat. The Gurnsey or Brown Swiss or other cow gives a very high butterfat.

Didn’t you know? Farmers get paid for the butterfat.

At PSU there is a wonderful little dairy, and I do not mean the one on campus, that well.. take it from a farmer gives lousy milk. I don’t know what PSU does to it but it leaves a lot to be desired. And no I don’t like football either. Hey I can say that you wanna see the loans with PSU written all over them?

Meyer’s on the other hand has my devoted attention. I know I will run out of that Mint Chocolate Flake Milkshake on a certain curve going home if I stop to buy one. That is exactly how long their so thick I can’t drink it through the straw shakes last.

One night I was there an employee moving a huge milkcan full of cream spilled it. The floor was golden. Just think how many of these we could have made.strawberries for that cream

Crushed Strawberries and cream over ice. Perfect on a hot summer day or when you want a taste of summer.

12 cups strawberries, hulled and halved
4 cups ice cubes
3 1/2 cups sugar syrup
5 cups half-and-half [half cream and half milk consistancy or Farm Fresh milk with cream and make sure it is the Brown Swiss..]

Freeze the strawberries until they are solid. [up to 4 weeks ahead]
Put 3 cups of stawberries and a cup of ice into the blender or food processor and pulse until evenly crushed.

Pour in 1/4 of the sugar syrup and the cream then blend for a few seconds to mix.
Pour that into container and repeat until done. Serve immdiately.Makes 10.
